The description of the Dress Shop 8 upgrade included a brief claim that pants patterns were improved, with no details about what the changes were. The changes were complicated, sublte and hard to explain. But, this is certainly the most important change that was done to Dress Shop patterns and we have been struggling to explain what was done and why you should care.

We will add more to this when we can, but there is a lot of information here, both on how the pants patterns were changed, what it will do to your fit, what you might need to change in your chart and how you can adjust your pants in the future. There is a lot of discussion there and we hope you'll find the time some time to absorb it. When you next make some pants, you will get much, much better results if you know this stuff and have the new Dress Shop tools and drafting code.
