Princess line customizer?

I could swear that I used to be able to use the princess line customizer...I recently updated, and now it is grayed out and I can't seem to find any pattern where it isn't grayed out.

Of course, there is the possibility that my memory is gone on this, but I could swear that I had used it before.

Am I nuts? What am I forgetting?

Thanks!

What program and which version. You must have a princess pattern up for the options tool to function.

The Dress Shop 8 Princess Line Customizer is enabled whenever you load any princess line pattern. Those are the blouses, dresses, jackets, coats, and vests that are in a folder whose name includes the word Princess.

If you load a fitted shirt, the tool will not be enabled.

I've checked again....the princess customizer is not available when I load a princess pattern that I created and saved a while back.

The princess customizer IS available if I start with a new princess pattern.

Is there something wrong with my existing patterns that I created and saved a while back? Do I have to recreate them from scratch in order to change some of the princess settings?

So at the moment I think I'm only half nuts... Wink

Thanks!

I just went in and loaded several saved princess garments and clicked the DS Princess line customizer and all functioned. I used DS V8.04 to check.

It is very hard to say why your saved pattern is not working with the tool. as I dotn have a version number, or a copy of the actual pattern.

I suggest opening the program, loading the saved pattern and then sending in a problem report along with your description of what is not behaving as you expected. Bob gets DS reports and can then analyze both the pattern and how the tool is interacting with that pattern using your chart. One of your user selections may be inhibiiting the tool.

All Princess Line Customizer should be enabled if you load a princess line pattern that does not include a skirt or pants component. The options in the tool (princess line disappears into a pocket at waist level) do not work well on waisted dresses, for instance.

If you have some other princess line pattern that is not being detected as suitable for that tool, do load it and send a problem report so I can see which pattern and why.
