Hi all

I have been unable to run Dress Shop for over a week now. Keep getting a message when I try to open it that it has stopped working. Help!

Need to know something more about that message.
I see you have DS8 pro - have you recently updated, and retrieved your codes. Have you changed computers and have the new Windows 7. DS8 isnt programed to say IT has stopped working- got to find out where that message is coming from.

I'm not sure when I last updated. I am using the same computer running Vista.

When I try to access Dress Shop the DS window opens like it usually does but the only thing that appears is the header strip that says "Dress Shop Family". Then a small window opens. It says "Microsoft Windows" and under that "Project1 has stopped working" Then it does the "Windows is searching for a solution" thing and finally says it can't find a solution but will notify me if one is available.

You are getting a message from Windows that it cannot find some parts of Dress Shop when you try to run it. Since it ran before and does not now, that suggests that something on your computer has erased, damaged, corrupted, or deleted some part of Dress Shop.

So, you should reinstall it. And, you should try to find what on your computer corrupted or damaged it. Things to try:

1. Disk scan. See if there are any damaged sectors on your hard drive and quarantine them so Windows does not try to use them any more.

2. Virus scan.

3. Hard drive defrag. When defrags are done, cases where multiple programs are storing to the same location on your hard drive are found and corrected.

4. Registry cleaner. There are free, downloadable registry cleaning tools. A corrupted system registry could cause this type of problem.
