The mending stories made me chuckle.
DH tells people I'd rather sew a whole new shirt than sew on a button. (I'm not quite that bad!) When we were first married he kept ripping the buttons off his work shirts. He made some comment about me not sewing them back on. hmph! so the next time I raided my button box & he got red ones. No more comments about not replacing buttons.
