Curved front seam on pants

Just drafted a perfectly fitting muslin for pants with zipper in back. (I used DS7.02a)

However I want to make real pants with fly front but the front seam is NOT straight but starts curving about 2.5 down from waist line.

I'm not crazy about inserting a zipper - fly front or otherwise into a curved seam.

Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Jean

I guess I did not add enough info to my inquiry to get a response.

I did try an attached fly with wierd results - much wider fly at top than a bottom.

detached fly is has straight seam edge but pant still shows curved seam.

I also tried widening darts but it pushes out side seam not cf seam.

Is there any way to tell DS to straighten CF seam for length of fly?

The problem getting a response on a question like this is that others are not seeing what you see, so your description of the problem does not trigger any "Oh yes, I see that" for anyone. This is the type of report that could get an instant answer in a problem report (which sends the measurement chart you are using), but only guesses on the forum. So, here's a guess...

The crotch curve on your pants is drawn based on the measurements you are using. The typical pants fly pattern piece defaults to 7" tall. It is drafted straight since the top part of most pants crotch curve is also straight for that height.

But, it may not be straight if your crotch height is short enough. Crotch height (the distance from waist to inseam) is commonly 9" to 11" (Floor To Waist Front minus Inseam). This provides about 8" of straight, vertical seam before it curves into the crotch extension.

If your inseam measurement is higher than this typical amount, then the vertical part of your curve gets shorter. In that case, you need to shorten the fly pattern piece to match. If the straight part of your curve is 5", then set the fly height to 5" and it will still sew on.

But, you might also recheck your floor to waist and inseam numbers to be sure you are correctly the proper pattern piece.

This is all a guess. A problem report (from within the program, use Help - Problem Report) aautomatically attahces your measurements and someone could just look and tell you more easily....

I kinda guessed that was your problem, but I didn't reply to your question. I make pants for a person whose fly height is shorter than average. But since this is a custom pattern making software, I make custom clothes LOL. Some of this client's clothing shapes I know I wouldn't find on a department store rack, but when she puts them on, nobody knows any different.
