LeeAnn In FloridaNeed nelp with a bodice design, Please :)
Hi everyone! I am a newbie and I need a bit of help on trying to design a bodice. I know exactly what I want but I am having trouble figuring out how to create it with the DS program. It is a little hard to explain but I do have a photo of what I want. If anyone is interested in helping me and giving me some tips on what I need to do to achieve this look I would greatly appreciate it. I will be happy to email a photo of the design I want if someone has the time

Thanks in advance!

LlantrisantIs the bodice from a dress pattn you wish to alter, you didn't say,and since your new Im thinking perhaps, your trying to change the DS fitting bodice, which is only used to proof measurements.

LeeAnn In FloridaHi Llantrisant! Thanks for responding

Ok maybe this will help explain this better

I make children's pagent clothing and I have been able to use the program for many of my designs, but there is this one particular style of bodice that I make for dresses that I can not seem to figure out how make thru the DS program. In the past I have had a lady make the pattern for me with her software program which is not DS, and then she sends it to me. I know there has to be a way to do this with DS so that I can do this myself. I have added some links to some photos of the style of bodice I want to draft. I did not make these dresses myself, these photos are to give you a example of the look I am trying to achieve. The bodice is close fitting, with princess seams with boning added. It is fitting down the sides and when you get to the waist/upper hip area it flares out...My problem in the program is that I can not seem to create the "flare". Look at the pics and see if you can understand what I am describing...

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
Here are the links to the photos of examples:

This can be accomplished using several different tools and you can see which works best.
1. use a dress rather than top and use the "flare" button (skirt flare enter # of degrees) adding the number of degrees you wish.Rather than print to micro mini length ( shortest "dress")the options length minus up to 5 more inches and or simply adjust the pattern length manually. ( chop off length)
2 Use a "blouse" or dress and Use stretch to fit for the upper torso but when you get to abd/hip add EASE (fit hip enter number of inches) this will flare the below waist side seam line.
