Our main computer is deceased. I am now using my husband's laptop and want to get back into my DS program. Is it possible to run the entire program on a thumb drive and not load it onto the main C-drive??

I did use it installed on a portable 80 GB external drive for demonstration purposes and it worked fine- just make sure the drive is large enough. Kaaren patrns4u@aol.com

I have never tried that, but I will shortly and respond again later. However, there are two reasons to recommend against it: 1. Dress Shop must be installed to run, not just copied to some other location. Installing informs Windows where certain files can be found and if Windows does not know that, then DS cannot run. If you are installing anyway, installing on the 'C' in the program folder is just as easy to do and just as easy to remove when you have your own computer back again. 2. We have had periodic reports from customers that had Dress Shop installed on a 'D' drive or external hard drive about failures that could not be duplicated when they moved to the 'C' drive. We have not found what they did that made it fail, but the program appears more susceptible to conflicts with Windows when in non-standard locations. Board Administrator, Dress Shop App
