I see there is a new update for DS to 9.3. What does this update do please.

The upgrade/update is an important one especially for those purchasing newer Win 7 computers.

The program code has been rewritten to properly place key files to be compatible for Vista and Windows 7 and to our knowledge beyond without going through the hassles of always working as administrator and spending time hunting for your charts and saved patterns. Thus making it both easier and more secure for users to save charts and patterns they have created and be able to reload them.

In addition over 200 patterns that show as owned and "default" owned patterns have been revised using the more complex and modern technology we now have from when they were created back in DS's first decade. This means they are not only better in many aspects but also allow the more recent tools to be effective with them. You LOOSE Nothing. Same pattern names just better.

Due to Microsoft’s recent changes we found we had to stop supporting earlier versions of DS before V8. We simply can’t guarantee that something designed to function well back in 2000 or 2005 will work in 2012 with the newer Operating systems. Changes in drafting, as well as printing commands and much more have changed so drastically that they just aren’t speaking the same language.

If you already own DS9 it’s a free update. If you own any prior version there is a deep discount to upgrade. Just sign into your account from the home page so the store can look up your account data, pay for the upgrade if you own an early version then download and install the program.

We also combined some of the many version names that have come out in the last decade plus to a simplified list of 2 versions of the Program. Dress Shop Deluxe and Dress Shop Pro. You have the option of upgrading from deluxe to V9.04 Pro as well.

Clicking on the Dress Shop logo will always take you back to the Home page. From which you can compare the various versions.

We spent many months organzing, testing and redoing patterns.

The 9.03 update was to make the 9.02 changes also work for Doll Shop Deluxe. Those subscribed to the Doll Deluxe forum were notified. Nothing in there for anyone else.

Kaaren's long note about the latest Dress Shop update was referring to build 9.02, which was for all Dress Shop owners. She was unaware that Doll Deluxe had been left out of that build and that was corrected in the 9.03 build just posted.

1. Dress Shop was not properly remembering the last selected grid preference.
