Hi,

I want to make a jumper for my daughter. She wants one with a fitted top and a gathered skirt. I have jumper patterns, but none of them match this design. I can create the design using a two piece dress pattern, but what do I do about extra room for the shirt that will be under the jumper?

Look at the shirtwaist jumper, turn on the grid and count the squares and check against your daughter's measurements. You may find the built-in ease just right as is. If you have the Fit Tool, click on Fit in the blue tower to view differences in the amount of ease for standard, casual and comfort fit, or none; or if you don't have the Fit Tool, click on Ease and add your own.
