In Mpd, I was designing a dress but the lines of the dress were distorted. There were lines drawn out from the middle of the dress that were longer than the dress and a couple of big bubble-like forms in the middle. What's up with that? | |||

Nine times out of 10 its the measurement chart. That being said- in order for anyone to give any advice, with over 100,000 patterns no one could tell you whats wrong without a pattern number and a description fo what options you selected. IF a pattern is distorted first check the chart for number entry errors- then check the test fit garments- see any quirks there? If so- its still probably a bad chart number. If the test fit garments look good, and other garments you have looked at, made in the past look weird and the chart looks good- send in a problem report. Kaaren patrns4u@aol.com | ||||

The pattern I am having a problem with is #146d211. Side panel, set-in sleeves, straight skirt. tie collar. Also, when I tried to buy it the link didn't work. I am having so many problems with this program that I am wondering if I should uninstall and reinstall. I can't access the problem report or the pdf help file. I have been with this program for so many years that I feel like I don't want to give up but it is getting very frustrating. I still have the little floppies from the original program. We have been through this before and I am not getting anywhere. Help? | ||||

Kaaren's advice was good, but there is an even simpler first step. Whenever you see a strange looking pattern, step one is - select a standard measurement set. If that one drafts properly, then the measurement set you are using is the place to look. This pattern drafts properly with a standard measurement set. So, the problem only occurs with the chart you are using and nobody can help you unless they have that chart. As Kaaren suggested, you need to send a problem report. But, you say problem reports are not working for you. And purchasing patterns is not working either. This sounds like you either have a very corrupted installation (in which case reinstalling might be useful). Or, you have security settings on your computer that are interfering. Have you recently moved to a new computer? Switched to Vista, perhaps? Changed browsers? You should check Windows and IE security settings and try to figure out what has changed. IF you can get problem reports to work, then someone here can help you with the chart you have that has a problem. But, you'll need to figure out what is stopping that. Thank you. I turned off Norton Security and tried again. I do get warnings each time I try to reach you online. Anyway, I did download the pattern, which was not shown correctly, but I am thinking that it will be OK when I print it. I also sent a test message in problem report and it looks like it went through. Can you let me know if it did? | ||||
