In ultimate activewear the swimsuit patterns offer a "waist level offset" option, why is that option not available when drafting pants? It says"can be used in pants, dresses..." or is this an option that has to be purchased? It would be a wonderful option for pants. Thanks for the help!

The waist level offset is a number you may enter on a full chart. The offset allows you to run the waist up or down a small amount and is used mostly for dresses's This helps balance the DS draft. Some women do not need it at all.some women benefit from it. Kaaren patrns4u@aol.com

Actually, the chart waist offset is for one piece dresses and is used to adjust the side seam waist shaping. The Waist Level Offset in the Options dialog is for waisted dresses and jumpsuits. A similar setting for adjusting the waist height of pants would be good, but is not in Dress Shop at this time. The low and high waisted pants patterns were built as unique patterns, rather than as regular pants that are then adjusted. The waist level is one of those many settings that, with the wrong value chosen, just breaks patterns very easily, so it has not been offered as a free-form setting. Sorry...
