Its a great time of year to make a new winter robe. Last winter I made this robe pattern to use as a class project.

I have posted the robe pattern in the class room forum for you to enjoy. Free.

You may adjust length, collar width ( shawl collar), type of pocket and pcoket heights and widths, the type of belt ( its got as tie belt)even ease and or fit level.

enjoy!

Thanks for that Karen. I made the robe last year,(picture sent in) and was thrilled at what I learnt by doing so. Wanted to make another, but lost the pattern in a computer re-build, so really appreciate having it back. I would never have realised how much of a differnce that little bit of flare makes to how cosy it keeps me. - No gapping, and drafts as I move around.

I too made the robe earlier this year from fleece and I love it. It is so cosy. I also made a tee night dress out of patterned cotton interlock and piped the edges of the collar and front with the same material. Looks really good.

That litle bit of flare is considered "walking ease" and I feel very important.

As most who have met me know I love to sit on a chair with my legs curled under me.a most un- lady like position but my feet never comfortably reach the floor ( ggg) . Keeping the knees covered and warm in that awkward for most position is important. The robe pattern should do that and does.

Kaaren I Love to sit like that when relaxing too!however I do pay for that later,my hip bothers me lol, glutten for punishment or what.My feet do touch the floor lol.
The robe does wrap around, with lots of room to spare I agree.Maybe a foot stool is a good idea for you eh?or maybe not lol.Plus these robes would make exellent christmas gifts too!

Kaaren -- I couldn't find the spot on the LivingsoftNW site where your picture and bio plus a link to your site was located. I found I did have your site bookmarked [whew!!] but I often go that weird route to get there cause I knew it was always there. Am I missing something or has the Livingsoft site changed a bit?
Anyway, found the chat room and there also found the robe which is what I was heading to in the first place. lol
Thanks
Duckie

Freda, I just sewed 1/4" from the edge, then turned it back & stitched close to the edge. I had put large pearl griper snaps all the way down the front, but the first time I took the robe off a couple of the snaps came off. So I put real big snaps all the way down. The part that stayed on was the pearl part, so it looks nice with the snaps hidden.
Don't know why those griper snaps came off cause the fabric was just cotton, not really bulky. I even used the griper that you use with the snaps. Another mystery of sewing. te heee

Thanks Bobbie,I shall do that then.I know what you mean about snaps, they do tend to pop off eh?really they shouldn't do that especially when one takes time to hammer them on Smiler.Theres enough wrap around, so I don't need to add any fastners to the front, the belt holds it together. We sure got this topic going eh GGGG.

Update on the progress of my new robe, today I am putting in the sleeves, seam side pockets, and belt. The belt I have done is half type, sewn into the side seams, and I plan on doing velcrose as fasterner, in place of a button, this will then fasten only at the front, and leaving the back loose. So now I am off to the sewing machine here.Smiler
