Hi Joan - I said it would be a while owing to commitments, but today I finally tried on the pants made up with the alteration to the back contour measurement you suggested. Sorry to report that all I achieved was a back crotch seam which was far too low - nowhere near where the waist was supposed to be - and I only altered the measurement by the recommended 1/4 inch! Good job I'm not too upset at the loss of the fabric - just the time and effort! What now I wonder?
