In one of the posts, I saw that DS8 is a standalone. If we have had DS forever and ever, would it be prudent to uninstall all the previous versions in order to freeup disc space and memory? Or would that create more problems we don't want to deal with? Kelly | |||

It does not matter. Either way should work. The disk space freed up by removing the Dress Shop 5,6,7 files is really not very significant as every update included mostly the same files as prior build, altered, but installing on top of the older ones, so they do not really take up much more space. You might gain 4 or 5 Megabytes, perhaps if you cleaned thoroughly before installing Dress Shop 8. Today's hard drives come with hundreds of gigabytes, and simply wandering the Internet will download hundreds of megs from every site you visit (temporary art files mostly). A single video that you got through an email link would take ten times the amount of all the Dress Shop builds put together. So, what you can recover by uninstalling every old Dress Shop build and update are barely worth the bother. But, it should not hurt, if you have the time to spend and prefer things to be tidier.
