Thank you Carolyn after I found a video on you tube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pDQ9BLE9cw
what you said made perfect sense. You did a very good job having the visuals made it easier to get. Only thing is I have so little time to sew I really would rather just print the pattern then draft it. Do you recommend any other soft ware going to do mainly things for my granddaughters right now. Can't find discussion anywhere else so you are my new best friend aren't you lucky.
thank you so much for your help

I started with, and still have, Dress Shop. The two used to be related, so while they look very different, they handle measurements in the same way, so you can use the same measurements. The way you select a garment is different. DS seems to be more about choosing a pattern, while MPD could be used for more serious designing. That may be what you want.

You can download the software and take a look. Like MPD you can’t print until you purchase it. I don’t recall what comes with the basic software, but you can take a look. The new owner, Anna, plans to keep the software going.

There may be others, but I haven’t kept up with that for quite a while, so I have no opinion about them.

Good luck!

This page lists patterns that come with the three versions of Dress Shop, Quick Start, Deluxe, and Pro: http://livingsoftnw.com/DS2012/PatternsIncluded.htm.

We're still here, still answering support requests, problem reports, etc. I have not updated Dress Shop as much as I would have liked. I took some time away to work with a designer's fashion house as well as did a stint of runway modeling. I hope to be able concentrate a lot more Dress Shop soon!

One thing is for sure, I have been using Dress Shop a lot. Check out the Dress Shop Facebook page the Dress Shop Facebook page! Post your creations there and show off!
