Friends, we’re going “adventuring” into Pennsylvania Dutch country for our meeting on Tuesday, July 19, at the home of Karen Stevens in Lititz, PA. Since our spring meetings on weekdays seem to interest or be available to more people than either Saturday or Sunday meetings, we're going continue the mid-week gatherings.
Karen usually makes this hour-long drive to come toward Phila. for meetings. We’ve set up two carpools to help the westward trek:
Brenda Dobin will be driving her van from the northern area. She’ll be happy to take anyone who meets her near the Willow Grove entrance of the PA turnpike. Brenda’s email address is brendad@comcast.net. She’ll take messages up to the day before the meeting to make arrangements.
Selma Whitaker will be driving her van from Paoli to Lititz and back. Selma’s email address is Swhita6apa@aol.com. She also offers to make arrangements up to the day before the meeting.
Please email Karen privately at kstevens34@yahoo.com if you need directions to her home. In particular, if you’re one of our friends from the middle of the state, please consider joining us for this meeting “in your backyard.”
GPUG members' schedules too often involve weekend events or work days on Saturday or Sunday, so - whether or not you can come this time - please let me know if a weekday meeting is good, so-so, or awful for your particular schedule.
We’re aiming to meet at Karen’s about 10:30 a.m., go out to lunch at one of her favorite PA Dutch restaurants, and return to her home to talk DressShop until about 3 p.m. The topic for this meeting is “pants you haven’t tried before” - anything from your pants sloper to slim fits to palazzo pants and everything in between. As usual, we want to see what you’re making.
Please, email me if you'd like to join us for the next meeting on TUESDAY, July 19! All are welcome, whether or not you own DS, stare at the screen, lurk in the on-line discussion, actually put together DS garments...or haven't a clue about how to use pattern-drafting software.

Just a repeat reminder of the carpools and instructions for our PA Dutch meeting in Lititz on Tuesday, July 19, about 10:30 a.m.

Marj, Just a reminder that this board is a publicly accessible site. It may not be wise to post phone numbers. Anyone needing the hostess' phone number can email privately at the addresses given.

You can edit these posts and remove the phone numbers by clicking the folder with pencil eraser icon alongside on the lower right of each post.

But after I've edited out the phone numbers, it won't let me kill off the original messages! Help, please

Go to the board. If you get email notification click on the underlined Topic at the top of the email (don't click Reply to Post for this)

Scroll up to the very first message. Because this is your post you should see the edit icon (the folder with pencil eraser). Click that and it will open the post.
Delete the phone numbers and click Post Now.

It may look like a new post but it isn't. You can see if you are editing a post because it offers a "delete this message?" link next to the "Post Now" button

For any post you do want to delete, click the message described above. It asks for confirmation, then poof! all gone.

HTH

There's one kicker: it won't let you delete the original post to which there are answers. So, I went in and deleted the phone numbers. Thanks for your help!

Friends, the Greater Philadelphia Users' Group is continuing its peripatetic (aka wandering) ways with the next meeting on Tuesday, August 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the home of Selma Whitaker in Paoli, PA. Our topic for the meeting is revisiting the top sloper, since the recent changes in DS6; the long-range plan is to be in shape to attempt a jacket this fall. We'll "show and tell" in the morning (Selma says, "Wait til you see what I have made recently.") and then walk to a nearby restaurant for a bite to eat. Sloper-fitting begins in earnest right after lunch.

The directions to Selma's house are:

From the intersection of Rtes 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and 252 (Bear Road on the north and Leopard Road on the south) go west two traffic lights to Darby Road. Paoli Baptist Church will be on your right and Wachovia Bank on the far left corner. Turn left (south) on Darby Road and go one block. You will pass the fire company on your left. You will see East Circular Avenue on the right and the entrance to Woodgate on the left. Turn left into Woodgate and go straight to the back. Selma's house number is 154. You can park in any space which is not labelled "reserved".

Please, email me if you'd like to join us for the next meeting on TUESDAY, August 16! All are welcome, whether or not you own DS, stare at the screen, lurk in the on-line discussion, actually put together DS garments...or haven't a clue about how to use pattern-drafting software.
