I'm printing out a pattern in DS6.16 Pro. In the Pattern Sumary it says "Using Dress Shop Pro build 6.16 2005/2006 My Pattern Designer"
Am I using anything in MPD? Is there any crossover from MPD influencing my good ol' DSPro program? Just wondering.

The simple answer is No.

The legal kind of answer is LSNW,Inc contracts MPD.LLC to do its code work for a fee. and MPD contracts with LSNW to do order entry.. Two companies working together doing 2 very different things to keep everything nice and legal.

Very like a car manufacturer buying tires from a non company owned vendor. Chevy etc dont make their own tires, they buy them from Goodyear or whomever.
