The placket is basically a rectangle with the curved shape of the keyhole centered. The front may be cut on the fold do NOT cut the keyhole shape at top center front but do transfer the mark. Interface the placket, transfer the marks to the wrong side of the placket on the interfacing. Place the Right side rectangle to the RIGHT side of the front at center matching center marks. Stitch the keyhole. Carefully trim around the cut mark as close as possible, turn to the inside, press. If your top/blouse has a collar no facings are needed. Apply the collar after applying the keyhole facing. If not you can bind the edge, use ribbing, use self bias, or print the neck facings of the type of neck selected with NO closure and trim that facing by overlaying the facing pattern on the front with keyhole pattern and adjusting the stitch line. There are many construction articles under Help > help index and a particularly useful one under Garment assembly on Help with tops, and in the next menu below it Help with Buttons Kaaren patrns4u@aol.com | ||||
