Hi, Is the size of the Arm Hole for DS8 still calculated by using the Arm Hole depth plus ease?

Not quite the way you asked the question. The armhole vertical height is determined that way. The armhole "size" is also effected by Across Shoulder, Across Chest, Across Back, Bust Front, Bust Back and their respective ease amounts.

Thanks. My armhole is too high up under my arm. Should I alter my side length to make this come down slightly?

No. At least, no for you. Dress Shop 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7 all handled armhole depth that way.

You own Dress Shop 8. With that version, you can now set armhole depth directly. See the Size - Complete Chart - Arm Measurements area. Set the front and back armhole depth directly. Generally, the back depth averages one inch greater than front armhole depth. That provides fabric room to allow your arms to move forward.
