Here is a quick fix, if you don't have anyone to mark your hemline on a skirt etc.
Tie a piece of string inside the door posts,making it taut, & aprox where you would like your hem to be.Next put some chalk on the string.Then walk slowly into the string from the front, and twirl slowly around to mark the back.Or repeat by walking backwards, into the string.Viola hem line marked.
