Friends, we used extra time and great-fitting patterns to design and make travel clothes...and now, we're going traveling. Since we're going various places at different times, we've put off the next meeting of the Custom-fit Software SIG of Phila. ASG until Tuesday, August 12, in St. Davids. Our theme for the August meeting will be travel: show what you wear to travel (car? plane?), what special clothes do you design (bathing suit? shorts-and-shirts?), what fabrics do you prefer - and why (knits? poly/cotton? linen?), and what sewing items do you bring back from your travels (ribbons? yardgoods?). As usual, we'll look at measurements and slopers and help one another translate them into garments that fit. The meeting on Tuesday, August 12, will be in St. Davids, from about 10:30 a.m. until about 3:30 p.m. We'll go to a local diner (great quiche!) for lunch. If you need directions - either by car or on SEPTA's R5 line - please send me an email. Whether you own and use pattern-drafting software, lurk around the on-line sites, or simply wonder if this marriage of home computers and pattern-drafting knowhow can solve fitting challenges for you or for those far-away for whom you sew, please plan to join us on Tuesday, August 12.
