Friends, one last fling of summer and then we'll jump into Fall sewing with a look at how you can use custom-fit software to "season" your wardrobe easily and cheaply without ready-to-wear (RTW) shopping forays. We'll meet in St. Davids from about 10:30 a.m. until about 3:30 p.m. When you must rely on RTW for season-changing clothes, you're at the mercy of the people who sell winter coats in August and bathing suits in January. Take a look at your fabric stash, pull out a piece that you've been passing over, and bring it along for a "group think" about what kind of pattern will let you turn it into a wardrobe star. Got pieces of clothing in-process? Bring them along and we'll help with fitting. Are your slopers good, or do you need a tweak and pin-fit? As usual, we'll head for the quiche and spanakopita at Minella's Diner for lunch. If you need driving directions, email Marj; the SEPTA R5 train comes 1.5 blocks away. Whether you own and use pattern-drafting software, lurk around the on-line sites, or simply wonder if this marriage of home computers and pattern-drafting knowhow can solve fitting challenges for you or for those far-away for whom you sew, please plan to join us on Tuesday, September 8.
