Sew away - or sew multiples close to home! One of the joys of using pattern-drafting software is the ability to fit garments for some one who lives far away or to fit several someones who want the same garment in their various sizes. Have you a favorite granddaughter who lives hundreds of miles away? Do you want to craft a set of bridesmaids' dresses or a mother-daughter matching set? Do you want to make garments for someone with a particular physical limitation? "Sewing for others" is this month's topic for the Custom-fit Software SIG of Phila. ASG: our meeting is Tuesday, August 13, from about 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in St. Davids. "Show and tell" is the star of the meeting, but we move quickly to basting trials that prove (or disprove?) current sets of measurements. Please bring your latest sloper (do you need to make one?) or your current project. We'll check measurements as needed and continue to see how pattern-drafting software can handle all sorts of fitting challenges - even ones that involve people you can't measure directly. As usual, we'll head off to a local diner for lunch and more good conversation on all sewing topics. All are welcome, whether or not you use or own pattern-drafting software.
