Friends, on Tuesday, Feb. 22, the Custom-fit Software SIG of Philadelphia ASG will meet in St. Davids for its regular gathering. From about 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., we'll admire, critique, pin-fit, or otherwise encourage one another's efforts to use pattern-drafting software to make garments for a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Let's talk about "Goofs...and their fixes!": - The carefully fit pattern whose top and pants in stripes are overwhelming together; the "coordinating colors" remedies - The unintended nick from a wayward serger blade; patches with pizazz - The inseam pants pocket that always gapes; re-cut pants fronts How have you overcome a pattern-to-fabric mismatch or tweaked the design when the garment in your mind didn't look right on your body? Special feature: Karen Stevens has a followup to her work with us on colors: what styles look best on each of our shapes, and how can we use pattern-drafting software to make those styles? We'll follow on the big screen. As usual, we'll drive to a local diner for lunch (great quiche - or spanakopita!). Whether or not you own pattern-drafting software, lurk in the discussions and wonder about it, or simply want to "talk sewing" with friends, please join us in St. Davids on Tuesday, Feb. 22. Our members have experience with DressShop, Pattern-Master Boutique, Garment Designer, and My Pattern Designer. The meeting is accessible by car or the Paoli/Thorndale SEPTA train; email for further directions. As is customary for a winter meeting, weather-based cancellation will depend on what you drivers tell Marj; we'll make a decision by midnight on Monday; if February is snowed out, our next hope for a meeting is Tuesday, March 1.
