Are you ready to move ahead with pattern-drafting software to make clothes that really fit you? The Custom-fit Software SIG of Phila. ASG will re-launch its regular meetings on Tuesday, June 9, in St. Davids from 10:30 a.m. until about 3 p.m. We’re planning a double-header:
- measurements that work, and
- jeans, jeans, jeans!
For a few days before the June 9 meeting, pattern-drafting "guru" Selma Whitaker returns to the Philadelphia area for a visit. Working as an independent contractor, Selma will do for-pay measurements (and, if desired, slopers) for people using either of two versions of custom-fit software: DressShop or My Pattern Designer. If you're interested in exploring how you can benefit from Selma's expertise, email her directly at SWhita6apa@aol.com to make personal arrangements about schedule and cost. [Marj Jensen supplies only the location in St. Davids; you'll receive driving and SEPTA directions after scheduling with Selma.]

At the regular meeting in St. Davids on Tuesday, June 9, members of the Custom-fit Software SIG will describe how they use the software, model garments that result, and compare solutions to fitting challenges. As a special feature, Selma’s bringing her laptop to show how the newest pattern-drafting software will yield jeans...in hundreds of style combinations in sizes to fit real shapes.

All are welcome, whether or not you own or use any pattern-drafting software. Directions to the meeting are available from marjjensen@aol.com . As usual, we’ll go out for lunch to a local diner.

If you're sewing for yourself, here's an unparalleled opportunity to get accurate, useable measurements and to talk with others who'll model their creations and answer your how-to questions.
