There is a new update for My Pattern Designer - version 1.04. This update includes all patch files you may have gotten or heard about which have been released since build 1.03 came out in May.

And, as has been the case for the last several updates, this one includes so much terrific new stuff that I cannot begin to describe it all in a single email. So, this one will be an overview, with links to more detailed descriptions of the new stuff. The new features are described in general, with links to more detail, on this web page:

The version 1.04 update includes 4 major changes or additions to MPD. They are:

1. Men's Outerwear patterns and collections are included and now available. To see what is included in each of the new collections, use these links:

2. Detailed, comprehensive sewing instuctions have now been added! This was a huge effort that has been going on for months now, producing assembly instructions for every single pattern in MPD. But, these are not the simplistic, one page of quick notes that come with paper patterns. You do get that, but it is just the summary reference page. But, it includes links to over 70 detailed, illustrated articles that provide more in-depth instructions and help than you would get with any other pattern anywhere. You basically get a customized book of articles that are specific to just the project you are working on and no more. Just what you need while you are working on it. Of course, you can reference the entire book as well if you like. Printable and re-usable, always handy - this is an incredibly useful addition to the MPD patterns. 3. Dozens of new skirt patterns and waisted dress patterns are included - a big bonanza for those of you that own those collections as you get ALL the new patterns for FREE! Anyone that purchases a skirt or waisted dress collection now will also get all the new ones included. The new patterns include high and low waist variations of any skirt that did not support those options before. And, yoked skirts. MPD now includes yoke options for straight, pegged, aline, flared, slink, trumpet, tiered, gathered, and circle skirts.

4. And, of course, there are the general fixes, improvements, and requests from users that we have had since the last build was released. That list is long, so I won't go into it fully here. But, here are a couple of highlights:
a. Pants should fit better. Build 1.03 had unintended ease added in some cases. That has been fixed.
b. Blouses and dresses should fit better for some. Some users had an angular back side seam, between waist and hip. This has been improved significantly. For those that did not get the angle, the back side seam should be unchanged.
c. When you first run MPD, the welcome box at the start now includes a link to "What do I own?" that lists every pattern and collection you have ever bought, with links to the patterns. Fast access to your patterns and ready answers to what do you own.
d. That welcome dialog box also includes a link to "What is new in this version?" which lists in detail all the changes since the prior build. Hopefully, it will be a handier reference than listing the changes in a forum posting that is hard to find later.
