is there a way to do a side seam pocket? i saw the other pockets in extras, just not that one

I can get one if I have a semi fitted drawstring pant pattern.
Then it is in the first 'front pants pocket' set of options.

Sometimes you have to take your pattern pieces from other designs.
I have a folder of mixed pocket options that I have printed that I then use with other items. From Memory you still need to work out where you are going to attach the side seam pockets and mark them out.
(Though sometimes even with pocket positions marked they are not suitable to my batch of recipients, so I re-calculate the size/positioning to what I know works.)
