How would I accomplish this in either DS or MPD? I'm particularly interested in how to do the back tiers. I hope this link works, if it does, click on the middle image to see the back of the dress.

This is going to take a lot of explanation- we have a basque waist front but that's is an inverted V in back and will have to be done with a pencil.

It looks complicated but its really not so much.when I have time I will sketch the pattern pieces.Im quite sure you could do the majority fo this dress by software.With a limited amount of hand drafting/draping.

Before I spend all that time though- is this a serious request someone wants you to make for them... or a I wonder how...

Oh, Kaaren don't go to a lot of trouble. It is a serious request but the wedding isn't until summer of 2011. I was playing a little today and realize I could probably do most of it in the program. I didn't realize we had the trumpet line. The triple flounced back I'm sure will be mostly done by hand. So, I guess the answer is it's just a "I wonder how" for now. Thanks for even looking at it. I might be updating this a year from now.

oh with all that time it would be fun to do at our leisure....we could even do a "class" on it which might be fun. It is a lovely dress.
