Hello! I have a few of questions about pants.
1. In DS, we had an option to make pants with a regular front, and an elastic back. Is this a possiblitly with MPD? Or can I just print the front from a regualr pair of pants and print the back from an elastic waist pair?

2. I have a comfortable pair of RTW pants that have elastic inserts in the sides. Is this a possiblitly with MPD?

3. What is ab averaging? Does is distribute the ab ease evenly front & back? So, if I have a protruding tummy, would it work better to turn off ab averaging?

4. What exactly does a yoke do? Is it for contouring/shape? Do the pants (gauchos) in this picture have a yoke?
Gauchos
I don't see an option for a front yoke for pants on MPD.

5. What exactly are gauchos?

I know that's a lot of questions! Thank you for any help you can give me!

Quite a list!
1. Yes, print front from one, back from the other
2. Elastic inserts can be added in ANY waistband. Look at the method used- select the type of inset you want, and create it with a scissor and pencil using the waistband pattern as your base. The nicest one is often found on men's slacks. You have to look and see for yourself. But you can either add waist ease or simply match your waist band to center front and side, cut and add seam allowances and a slight extensions to all raw edges giving you a 4 piece waistband. Don’t hard stitch the side seams of the waistbands, overlap and insert one into the other. Insert the elastic inside stitching to the inside edge. Finish the waist band.

3. To see the affect of abd averaging print the identical slim fit pant with darted waist at default with abd average on and again with it off in 1/4 scale. Align the hems at top and grain lines... see which looks more like you and make a test pair. Some charts the difference is quite dramatic, others negligible.

4. Yokes are design elements that can and do offer fitting opportunities as well as a design element. Your link doesn’t work for me.

Go to Options then Yokes- there are two columns one for front yokes, one for back select as desired. They do NOT have to be the same dimensions or shape but may be.

Kaaren answered most of these questions very thoroughly, but missed this one.

Yokes, as she mentioned are a fitting opportunity in pants. What she did not make clear was that they are an alternative to darts. You cannot use pants yokes and darts in the same pants. So, in MPD, yokes in pants are available with Yoked Pants, but not with Darted Pants, Undarted Pants, Princess Line Pants, or Drawstring Pants. Select Yoked pants, then use the Options - Yokes dialog to choose front or back yoke options as you wish...
