Hi, I am wondering what is the best way to shirr a front bodice using the grecian style? Are they instruction in the manual? Thanks

The shirr and gather tool has an article on how to use the Designer tool and every pattern has an article on how to construct the garment linking to expanded information.

The thing is we don’t Know if you want a softly pleated look, a tightly gathered look, release tucks, cartridge pleats, or knife pleats. Your vision will demand the method you use.

Using soft fabrics and some sort of pleat, I would chalk mark even or uneven pleat takes up (never exceeding the amount of fabric you added for taking up) and use very fine silk pins to pin in place. I actually use a very narrow low stick fabric tape to hold my pleats in place before pressing (if sharp) or steaming if soft.

You can gather over a long thread tail so you can pull the bobbin thread,
or use an 'ease plus' by placing a finger behind the presser foot holding back the fabric as it comes thru the feed dogs with a long stitch length,
or sit and pin tuck with a pin tuck foot or grab a couple weft threads or measured amount, and pin in place
or one of my favorites a gather/ruffler foot that you can set from a tight gather to a loose ruffle - generic models are available for most home sewing machines.
Have Fun !
