OH wait till you see what's coming... but yes you can simply face the waist using any system ie no roll described in the sewing construction help articles, petersham, grosgrain, interfaced strip, and then edge stitch across the top and then stitch down an inch or so to create a waistband "look" Kaaren

Why not just do without a band and use a facing maybe? Or lower your waist to make room for the band is another thought. We expect to see results, lol k P.S. I also saw a post where peggy said she posted jeans with hem questions, but I couldn't find the pictures in the albums. Did I miss something? k

quote: Here's what i wish to know about waistbands, since im short waisted- i would like to make my band sit inside the pants, should I cut a band on bias then turn it inside my pants and sew down the band?any suggestions please appreciated.TIA
While others may reply on how to do this today, you might consider waiting a few days. The middle of this coming week, The Jeans Machine tool is being replaced with a new tool that works for all pants and it includes numerous changes to waistbands, their construction and fit adjustments. All MPD pants are being revised in an upgrade that has been in work all this year and is in final test just now. The waistband options are all vastly improved and the changes may be worth waiting a few days to look at.
